Apple iOS 9.2 Has A Great Secret Feature

Do you have an ‘iCrap’ folder? You may use a different name, but almost everyone with an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch has a folder dedicated to storing the apps they wish they could make disappear. Well now a secret trick has been found in iOS 9.2 which just might prove to be the
answer to this age old problem…
YouTube user videosdebarraquito has discovered iOS 9.2 has the ability to, quite literally, make unwanted apps disappear. He has detailed the steps in the video below but the steps are as follows:
  1. Move the unwanted apps to a new folder (it doesn’t have to be called ‘Disappear’)
  2. Drag each one as far right in the folder as possible
  3. While the app is still held under your finger tap the Home button
This magically causes the app to disappear and the trick can be repeated for every app in the folder. Once they have all gone and you exit the folder it too will disappear:

So why did I only say this “might prove to be the answer”? Because videosdebarraquito discovered that the apps reappear on your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch when the device is restarted. It’s just a temporary solution.
Consequently the bigger question becomes about whether this a glitch or a sneaky insight into a feature Apple AAPL -2.13% is quietly working on? If it does prove to be the latter I suspect it would require a less complicated process in a final version. Meanwhile if it is just a glitch then the interest around it will hopefully show Apple there is significant demand for this to be done properly in a future release.
